Jon is a Chartered Surveyor and has particular expertise in the management and corporate development of Property Services businesses in both the public and private sectors. He became involved in Property Management and Professional services while qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor and has had almost 30 years experience covering all aspects of the Agency and Property Services sector. In 1988 he joined Edward Erdman (now Colliers CRE) as Director of their International Division and was responsible for their offices in France, Germany and Belgium. He became Chief Executive of Jackson-Stops & Staff’s Property Management and Building surveying businesses in 1992, following their acquisition by Edward Erdman and led a Management buy-out in 1995, becoming the major shareholder. The business was sold to a subsidiary of First Pacific Davies, (now FPD Savills) in 1997. He worked as a Consultant to a number of major property investment companies, and acted as interim Chief Executive of Fineman Lever & Company, before joining the Board of Hercules Property Services Plc, a quoted company, in 2003, taking responsibility for the Group’s property services business. (Hercules owned a number of residential property management businesses including Gross Fine, Wood management and Dunlop Heywood Lorenz and had around 36,000 homes under management.) He played a pivotal role in the sale of Hercules to Erinaceous Group Plc and joined their Board for a short period afterwards to assist with the integration of the property business. He is also Chairman of Circle 33 Group a major London Housing Association which has gross assets of more than £1 billion, owning and managing 22,000 homes in London and the South East. In 2005 he was appointed Managing Director of Retirement Villages Limited, a developer and owner of specialist housing and care. |
